MCP Tools for BizTalk
The BizTalk group lets an AI assistant explain a BizTalk Server landscape: what each application holds, how it is bound, what runs according to the DTA (tracking) database, and how hard it is to migrate. It can also draw the application as Mermaid C4. Every tool in the group only reads. BizTalk and the MCP Endpoint describes the questions it answers.
- ✅ 34 read tools
- ✅ Inventory, bindings, runtime activity, and dependencies per application
- ✅ Mermaid C4 diagrams and a migration worklist
The group is not selected by default in the AI Assistant: it has 34 tools, and the default selection already holds 108, so you untick other tools first (Choose Your Tools). The MCP Tool Reference explains the scopes, the paging rules, and the other groups.
Understanding When the Tools Run
The BizTalk tools are always listed, and in OAuth mode they need mcp:repository.read. Apart from get_biz_talk_capability_status, they also refuse to run unless all three of these hold:
- BizTalk AI (
EnableAiForBizTalk) is ticked in the AI System Parameter. - At least one active BizTalk environment exists.
- The caller is a Nodinite Administrator.
A refused tool returns the reason and a hint to call get_biz_talk_capability_status, which always runs and shows the flag, your Administrator status, the environments, and any warnings.
