Log View Data to Search Tab
The Data to search tab is the third of five tabs when you add or manage a Log View. It decides which events are in scope at all: only events that belong to the Repository Model entities and Log Agents you pick. A Log View for the order team that searches only the order Message Types is faster, and shows nothing it shouldn't.

Items of one type combine with OR; the types combine with AND. A type with no items doesn't filter.

Animated walkthrough: OR within a type, AND between types, counted on one order.
- Search the order ORD-10004 in a Log View with nothing on the Data to search tab: 34 events, every step of the order.
- On Data to search, click Edit on Message Types and tick O2C.Order.Received/1.0: 3 events, only the received orders.
- Tick a second Message Type, O2C.Order.Invoice/1.0: 5 events. Two Message Types combine with OR.
- Click Edit on Endpoints and tick ERP-Finance-Invoice-Send: 2 events. The Endpoint combines with the Message Types with AND, so only the invoices remain.
After each change, click Confirm and close and Save and show, and search again.
| Card | Narrows to events of |
|---|---|
| Integrations | The business integration flows you pick, such as Order Processing |
| Systems / Services | The source or destination Systems, and the integration Services |
| Message Types / Endpoints | The message formats, and the receive ports, send ports, or API endpoints |
| Log Agents | The data sources that logged them |

The box at the top repeats the rule: AND between types, OR within a type.
Note
If you add one Message Type and one Endpoint, an event must match both. If you add a second Message Type, an event matches either Message Type. With Visible in search checked, users may leave items out of their search.
Try the Search criteria tab first: Search Fields and Restrictions are often the simpler way to narrow a Log View.
Let users narrow the scope: Visible in search
Each card has a Visible in search checkbox at the bottom: Integrations, Systems, Services, Message Types, Endpoints, and Log Agents. With it checked, the Log View's search gets a collapsible panel for that type, such as Message Types (3), with All and Selected tabs, a filter, and Select All / Unselect All.
The panel lists only the items of the Log View, all ticked. Users untick what to leave out, and the search uses only the ticked items. They can narrow the scope, never widen it: items outside the Log View are never offered.

Animated walkthrough: users leave the received orders out and keep the deliveries and invoices.
- On the Data to search tab, the Message Types card holds three Message Types.
- Check Visible in search on that card and click Save and show.
- In the Log View, open the new Message Types (3) panel and untick O2C.Order.Received/1.0.
- Type the order number ORD-10004 and click Search. Only the deliveries and invoices are listed.
