Example to find and view the Body/Payload from another BizTalk Log Event

Unlock rapid troubleshooting and seamless end-to-end tracking in your BizTalk integrations with Nodinite! This example demonstrates how to use a Search Field Link to instantly open the body of a related message using its MessageId—empowering you to correlate events and accelerate root cause analysis.

The Nodinite Web Client action /Message/FindAndView intelligently searches through the active Log Database and, if needed, older databases to locate the message body for the specified MessageId. When you expand Log Event details in a Log View, you can also see the Log Database's unique Id, which is essential for advanced troubleshooting.

To set up this powerful feature:

  1. Ensure the HTTP Response Header Nodinite-LogDatabaseId is set with the Id of the relevant Nodinite Log Database.

  2. Create the Search Field that extracts the BizTalk MessageId, for example in the Search Field Wizard (see How to use the Search Field Wizard) with a Message Context Key expression on the http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/file-properties#MessageID context property. Then create a new link for that Search Field. You configure Search Field Links in the Search Field editor, see Add or manage Search Field.

  3. Assign a clear name to the link and enter the address of the Nodinite Web Client, which runs at the root of its own web site, followed by Message/FindAndView. The host and port come from your environment's settings in the Nodinite Portal (Servers step). For external access, use the DNS or server name instead of localhost.
