Organize your monitoring landscape by resource type with Nodinite Categories. Group related Resources—like BizTalk Send Ports, Azure Service Bus Queues, or Windows Services—for simplified management, targeted alerting, and role-based access control.

A Category is used to group related Resources from Monitoring Agents in Monitor Views.

Origin of Categories

A Category is a way for a Monitoring Agent to partition Resources for use in one or more role-based Monitor Views. Use can use this feature to create Monitor Views with Custom Filters based on the Category name (i.e. BizTalk Server Send Ports, Windows Services, Azure Service Bus Queues). Some Nodinite Monitoring Agents has the feature in the Configuration to create custom Categories.

The Category names are automatically populated from Resources during the sync operation of the Monitoring Service. The Resources comes from the Monitoring Agents. The Monitoring Service knows about the whereabouts of the Monitoring Agents from the settings in Monitoring Agents.
