What is a Tag?
Tags in Nodinite are powerful labels that help you organize, categorize, and manage your Log Views, Monitor Views, Articles, C4 Diagrams, and Diagram Set entries. With Tags, you can streamline large datasets, improve searchability, and enable efficient self-service for your business users.
- ✅ One vocabulary across operations and architecture – Use the same Tags on Log Views, Monitor Views, Articles, and C4 Diagrams
- ✅ Central management – Rename or clean up a Tag once, and every place that uses it follows
- ✅ Safe cleanup – Delete and restore Tags with their associations, or permanently remove them when you're sure
Tag Basics
- A Tag must have a unique name. Maintaining Tags in one place ensures efficiency—changes affect all places where the Tag is used, saving you time and effort.
- A Tag can be deleted and restored. When you restore a Tag, it retains its previous settings and associations.
- A Tag can be permanently deleted. This is not a common feature within Nodinite and should be used with caution, as it removes the Tag and all its associations from the system.

One Tag (blue) can label operational views (teal) and Repository Model content (purple) at the same time.
Administrators open the Tags list from Administration > Customize > Tags.
