Version - System Parameter
The Version System Parameter holds the Nodinite version installed in this environment. The installer sets it on every installation and update; the Web Client shows the installed version, see Menu - Version.

How It Works
When you install or update Nodinite, the installer updates the Configuration Database and then writes the new version into Version. Each environment (for example Development, Test, and Production) has its own value, so the environments can run different versions during a phased rollout.
The value has the format Major.Minor.Build.Revision, for example 7.1.0.0:
| Part | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Major | 7 |
Major version; a new major version needs a matching product key, see ProductKey |
| Minor | 1 |
Minor version |
| Build | 0 |
Build number |
| Revision | 0 |
Revision number |
Updates within the same major version are covered by your product key.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check my Nodinite version?
In the Web Client; see Menu - Version.
In the installer output, during installation or update.
With a query against the Configuration Database:
SELECT [Value] FROM [SystemParameters] WHERE Name = 'Version'
Can I change the value?
No. Don't change it in the database either: a wrong version can make the next update fail.
The version looks wrong. What do I do?
The last installation or update probably did not complete, or someone changed the value by hand. Run the update again; it sets the correct version.
