Manage Endpoints
Endpoints are the physical addresses where your integrations send and receive messages. Logging creates most of them automatically, so over time the list collects test addresses, renamed queues, and Endpoints that are no longer used. This page shows how to keep the list clean and correct.
- ✅ Add and edit Endpoints, and jump to everything that uses them
- ✅ Delete many Endpoints at once with With Selected, and restore them if you change your mind
- ✅ Permanently delete Endpoints you're sure you'll never need again
On this page, an administrator, or a user whose Role may modify Endpoints, learns to manage the Endpoint list. Business users who only look up Endpoints start with the Endpoints Overview instead.
Understanding delete, restore, and permanent delete
Delete in Nodinite is a soft delete: the Endpoint is flagged as deleted and hidden from the list, but it stays in the database, so you can restore it. Only Permanently Delete removes it for good. See Show deleted records for how this works across Nodinite.

An Endpoint's life after Delete. Green: active. Yellow: deleted, and anyone who may modify Endpoints can restore it. Red: permanently deleted by an Administrator, and it can't come back. See Show deleted records.
Who can do what
| Action | Who can do it | Can you undo it? |
|---|---|---|
| Add an Endpoint | Create on Endpoints in the Role | ✅ Yes, delete it |
| Edit an Endpoint | Modify on Endpoints (Permission Set for the Repository Model) | ⚠️ No version history; change it back by hand |
| Delete, one or many | Modify on Endpoints | ✅ Yes, restore it |
| Restore, one or many | Modify on Endpoints | ✅ Yes, delete it again |
| Permanently Delete, one or many | The built-in Administrator Role only | ❌ No |
Everything except Permanently Delete also works from the Repository menu for users whose Role allows it; the Administration menu needs the Administrator Role.
Every right is set per Role on its Repository Permissions tab. Users first need the global Access right on Repository (Repository Access), then Access on the Endpoints row; Create and Modify sit on the Endpoints Permissions for all row. A Deny in any of the user's Roles always wins.
Find the Endpoints list
Open Administration > Repository Management > End Points, or Repository > End Points. From Administration, clicking an Endpoint opens it for editing; from Repository, it opens it for viewing.

Use the filters and Include deleted to narrow the list before you select Endpoints.
Add an Endpoint
Click Add End Point to open the editor. See Add or manage Endpoint for every field.

The Add End Point button opens the Endpoint editor.
Tip
You can also manage Endpoints from DevOps pipelines with the Nodinite Web API.
Edit an Endpoint
Click the Endpoint's Name in the Administration list, or choose Edit from its Action menu. Endpoints are unique by Name, URI, Direction, Endpoint Type, and Log Agent, so changing any of these may break the Log Views that use it. See Add or manage Endpoint.
The Action menu
Click Action on a row to open the Action menu for that Endpoint:
- Integrations, Systems, Services, Contracts, and Message Types open submenus with the Integrations, Systems, Services, Contracts, and Message Types that use the Endpoint. Check them before you delete.
- View and Edit open the Endpoint.
- Show in Mapify and Show in Mermaid draw the Endpoint and its relations in Mapify or as a Mermaid diagram.
- Delete on an active Endpoint; Restore and Permanently Delete on a deleted one.

The Action menu of an active Endpoint. On a deleted Endpoint, Restore and Permanently Delete replace Delete (see Restore).
Delete Endpoints
New 7.12
Delete many Endpoints at once
- Tick the checkbox on each Endpoint you want to delete, or the checkbox next to With Selected to tick every Endpoint in the list.
- Click With Selected and choose Delete. The number shows how many of the selected Endpoints it applies to.

Two Endpoints ticked, so With Selected offers Delete (2). - In Confirm intent to Delete, click Yes, or No to keep the Endpoints.

The dialog reminds you that deleted Endpoints can be restored. - A Batch delete message confirms how many Endpoints were deleted.

The robot behind the message is the AI Assistant button, not part of the message.
Delete one Endpoint
- Choose Delete from the Endpoint's Action menu.
- In Confirm intent to Delete, check the name, URI, Endpoint Type, and Log Agent, then click Yes, or No to keep the Endpoint.

The dialog shows which Endpoint you're about to delete.
Restore deleted Endpoints
Restore one Endpoint
- Check Include deleted to list deleted Endpoints.
- Open the Action menu of the deleted Endpoint and choose Restore.

Restore appears only on deleted Endpoints. - In Confirm intent to Restore, check the name, URI, Endpoint Type, and Log Agent, then click Yes.

The dialog shows which Endpoint you're about to restore. - A Success message confirms that the Endpoint is restored.

The restored Endpoint is back in the list.
Restore many Endpoints at once
Check Include deleted, tick the deleted Endpoints, and choose With Selected > Restore.
Permanently Delete Endpoints
New 7.12
Important
Permanently Delete needs the built-in Administrator Role, and it can't be undone.
Permanently Delete is offered only for Endpoints that are already deleted, so delete an Endpoint first, then permanently delete it.
Permanently delete many Endpoints
Check Include deleted, tick the deleted Endpoints, and choose With Selected > Permanently Delete.

With two deleted Endpoints ticked, With Selected offers Restore and Permanently Delete.
Click Yes in the Confirm intent to Permanently Delete dialog, or No to keep the Endpoints.

The dialog counts the Endpoints and lists what is removed with them.
Permanently delete one Endpoint
Choose Permanently Delete from the deleted Endpoint's Action menu, then confirm the same way.

Permanently Delete appears only on deleted Endpoints.
What is removed, and what is kept
Removed together with each Endpoint:
- its Log Points and Metrics, with all Metric Values
- its membership in Log Views
- its Custom Metadata values and Article links
- a Transport Contract left without any Endpoint, together with its Contract
Kept:
- the Log Events already logged; they stay until the retention of their Message Type removes them
Warning
An Endpoint that still receives Log Events is created again by the next event. Stop or reconfigure the logging first if the Endpoint must stay gone.
Copy API URL
Click Copy API URL to see the underlying REST call to the Web API and copy the query string. Use it in custom Reports, automation scripts, monitoring dashboards, or DevOps pipelines.
Frequently asked questions / Troubleshooting
I deleted an Endpoint by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, as long as nobody permanently deleted it. Check Include deleted, then restore it.
Why is Permanently Delete missing?
Permanently Delete is offered only for deleted Endpoints, and only to members of the Administrator Role. Check Include deleted, and delete the Endpoint first if it's still active.
I permanently deleted an Endpoint, and it came back
Something still logs to it: the next Log Event for that Endpoint creates it again. Stop or reconfigure that logging, then delete and permanently delete the Endpoint again. To remove every Endpoint of a retired Log Agent, permanently delete the Log Agent instead.
