Manage Services
Services are the connection points between your Systems: they send and receive the messages your integrations carry. Logging creates many of them automatically, so over time the list collects test entries and Services nobody uses anymore. This page shows how to keep the Service list clean and correct.
- ✅ Add, duplicate, and edit Services, and tie them to monitoring Resources
- ✅ Delete Services, and restore them if you change your mind
- ✅ Export Services and copy the API URL for custom reports
On this page, an administrator, or a user whose Role may modify Services, learns to manage the Service list. Business users who only look up Services start with the Service Overview instead.
Understanding delete and restore
Delete in Nodinite is a soft delete: the Service is flagged as deleted and hidden from the list, but it stays in the database, so you can restore it. See Show deleted records for how this works across Nodinite.

A Service's life after Delete. Green: active. Yellow: deleted, and anyone who may modify Services can restore it. See Show deleted records.
Who can do what
| Action | Who can do it | Can you undo it? |
|---|---|---|
| Add or duplicate a Service | Create on Services in the Role | ✅ Yes, delete it |
| Edit a Service | Modify on Services (Permission Set for the Repository Model) | ⚠️ No version history; change it back by hand |
| Delete a Service | Modify on Services | ✅ Yes, restore it |
| Restore a Service | Modify on Services | ✅ Yes, delete it again |
Everything also works from the Repository menu for users whose Role allows it; the Administration menu needs the built-in Administrator Role.
Every right is set per Role on its Repository Permissions tab. Users first need the global Access right on Repository (Repository Access), then Access on the Services row; Create and Modify sit on the Services Permissions for all row. A Deny in any of the user's Roles always wins.
Find the Services list
Open Administration > Repository Management > Services, or Repository > Services. From Administration, clicking a Service opens it for editing; from Repository, it opens it for viewing.

Use the filter box, the System and Direction filters, and Include deleted Services to narrow the list before you change anything.
Add a Service
Click Add Service to open the editor. See Add or manage Service for every field.

The Add Service button opens the Service editor.
To start from an existing Service instead, choose Duplicate from its Action menu to clone it.
Tip
You can also manage Services from DevOps pipelines with the Nodinite Web API.
Edit a Service
Click the Service's Name in the Administration list, or choose Edit from its Action menu. See Add or manage Service for every field.
Tie a Service to monitoring
In the Service editor, associate the Service with one or more Resources to tie it to Monitoring. See Add or manage Service.
The Action menu
Click Action on a row to open the Action menu for that Service:
- Edit opens the Service in the editor, and Duplicate creates a copy of it.
- Delete on an active Service; Restore on a deleted one.
- Export opens the Export wizard.

The Action menu of an active Service. A deleted Service offers Restore instead of Delete.
Delete a Service
Choose Delete from the Service's Action menu. The Service disappears from the list, and you can restore it later.
Restore a deleted Service
- Check Include deleted Services to list deleted Services.
- Open the Action menu of the deleted Service and choose Restore.
The restored Service is back in the list. See Show deleted records.
Export a Service
Note
Import/Export is disabled in Nodinite 7.0. Use the Web API to move data between instances for now.
Choose Export from the Service's Action menu to open the Nodinite generic Export wizard.
Copy API URL
Click Copy API URL to see the underlying REST call to the Web API and copy the query string. Use it in custom Reports, automation scripts, or custom dashboards.
