Install Nodinite Configuration Database
The Nodinite Configuration Database is the SQL Server database that holds all configuration, the System Parameters, and the list of Log Databases for one environment. It ships with the Nodinite Core Services and is installed by the same CLI package as the Web API, Log API, Logging Service, and Monitoring Service. Follow Install Nodinite v7 for the complete procedure; this page lists what is specific to the Configuration Database.

What the CLI Does for the Configuration Database
When you run the generated package (Step 7), the CLI:
- Creates the Configuration Database, or updates its schema when it already exists, by deploying the Dacpac with
SqlPackage.exe. - Asks you to confirm a verified backup before it applies schema changes to an existing database.
- Uses the connection string from the package configuration (or from
--database-connection-string) for the Core Services that connect to the database.
Run validate and a --dry-run first, as described in the recommended workflow. If you chose to supply the connection string at install time, pass it with --database-connection-string.
Verify the Configuration Database
- In SQL Server Management Studio, the database named after your environment (for example
Nodinite_Prod_Config) exists on the SQL Server instance you selected. - The Web Client loads and shows Administration › Settings › System Parameters; the values come from the Configuration Database.
- Administration › Settings › Log Databases lists an online Log Database once the Logging Service has started.
