Frequently asked questions

Find solutions to common problems and answers to frequently asked questions in the Nodinite Logging Service FAQ, available in the Troubleshooting user guide.

Why does it take a long time for the Logging Service to stop or restart?

The Logging Service may take several seconds to stop or restart because it completes any work in progress before shutting down. For example:

  • Processing a batch (loop)
  • Shrinking a database (this operation can take many minutes to complete)
  • Inserting data from BizTalk (depending on the size of the BizTalk DTA database, this operation can take 0–5 minutes)

It's normal if this process takes less than 120 seconds. For busy or overloaded environments, always schedule updates during planned maintenance windows to avoid service interruptions.
