You can create new, edit and delete Domains using the Nodinite [Web Client][Web ClientCS].
How do I create a new Domain?
Read and follow the instructions in this user guide: "[Add or manage Domain][]".
What are Domains used for?
[Domains][] represent organizational boundaries (departments, business units, teams) within your [Business Process Models (BPMs)][BPM]. They appear as horizontal swimlanes in BPM diagrams, making it clear which organizational unit is responsible for each process step.
Can I reuse Domains across multiple BPMs?
Yes! [Domains][] are designed to be reusable across multiple [Business Process Models][BPM]. Define a Domain once (e.g., "Sales Department," "Finance Department") and use it in all relevant BPMs for consistent organizational representation.
How do Domains relate to Services?
Each [Domain][Domains] can be associated with one or more [Services][]. This connection shows which services execute within each organizational boundary, providing both business and technical context in your [BPMs][BPM].
Can I add Custom Metadata to Domains?
Yes! New 7.2 Starting with Nodinite 7.2.0, you can enrich Domains with [Custom Metadata][] to document team ownership, contact information, SLAs, escalation procedures, and organizational context. This helps capture accountability and governance directly on organizational boundaries. See [Add or manage Custom Metadata][] for details.
