Install Nodinite Non-Events Monitoring Agent

Prerequisites:
Download the latest Nodinite Non-Events Monitoring Agent and configure your Windows and Non-Events Server machines. Assign the service account the Logon as Service Right. For details, review Prerequisites for Non Events Monitoring Agent. Log on as a local administrator to install Windows Services.

Start the Installer

Double-click the MSI file to launch the Nodinite Non-Events Monitoring Agent installer.

Start the installation by running the MSI file.

If Windows displays a security warning, click 'Run' to continue.

Welcome Screen

When the MSI file launches, you see the Welcome screen.

Click 'Next' to continue or 'Cancel' to exit the installer.

Custom Setup

Select the components and installation location. We recommend the default settings for most users.

Service Account Information

Enter the credentials for the Account that runs the Nodinite Non-Events Monitoring Agent. This account logs on and queries the monitored databases.

  • Domain: Enter the domain name. For a local account, use the server name or a dot (.) as the domain.
  • User: Enter the account name.
  • Password: Enter the account password.

The account must have 'Log on as Service Right'.

Click 'Next' to continue or 'Cancel' to exit.

Insufficient Privileges

If the account information does not meet Prerequisites for Non Events Monitoring Agent, you see an error message.

Usually, the account cannot run as a service or is not a local administrator. Follow the How to set Logon as a Service right guide and click retry. If the problem persists, click cancel and restart. Always enter valid credentials!

Check the local event log (System and Application) for additional error details.

Completed Setup

The final step shows either a success or a premature exit.

Click Finish to exit the installer.

When setup finishes, your default text editor opens a file named README.txt. Review this file for important information about adding the agent as a Add or manage a Monitoring Agent Configuration.
