Uninstalling Nodinite Pickup LogEvents Service Logging Agent
The Pickup Log Events Service Logging Agent can be uninstalled running either the installer directly or by using 'Add or Remove Programs' in Windows.
Note
Make sure to disable logging to any of the destinations before uninstalling this logging agent, otherwise you will most probably waste resources, fill the queues and underlying disks which will eventually be someones problem
Uninstall guide
Make sure to clean up first.
- Disable Logging from your custom code
- Remove all queues, tables and folders that the Pickup Log Events Service Logging Agent fetched LogEvents from any of the following supported sources:
- ActiveMQ
- AMQP
- Blobs in Containers (Azure Storage Account)
- Event Hub and syncpoint in Azure Storage Account
- File Folder (SMB)
- MSMQ
- PostgreSQL database(s)
- SQL Server
- Service Bus
Follow the steps next to uninstall the Pickup Log Events Service Logging Agent. Start with either step 1 or 2 depending on your own likings.
Step 1: Add or Remove Programs
Step 2: Start the installer
Or you can start the uninstall by executing the following.
Double-click on the MSI file to start the installation of the Pickup Log Events Service Logging Agent.
Step 3: Welcome Screen
On successful execution of the MSI file or starting from 'Add or remove programs' a Welcome screen is presented.
Click the 'Next' button to continue the installation process or click the 'Cancel' button to quit the installer.
Step 4: Change, Repair, Remove
In the 'Change, Repair, Remove' dialogue click the 'Remove' button to uninstall the agent and proceed to the next step.
If the Service was not stopped before uninstalling a dialogue may appear. Click 'Ok' to close and continue.

Step 5: Remove Program
Click the 'Remove' button to remove the agent and proceed to the next step.
Step 6: Completed setup
The last step of the un-installation gives either a success or a premature exit.
Successfully uninstalled
Click the Finish button to Exit and quit the installer.

Failed un-installation example: A failed un-installation will render a premature exit.
