How do I monitor 40+ services—do I need 40 agent licenses?
No—one agent license monitors 40+ services. This FAQ explains why WSO2 licensing is based on Monitoring Agent instances instead of the number of monitored services.
Licensing Model
One Monitoring Agent is one Windows service running on one server. That agent can monitor unlimited services across unlimited WSO2 Carbon servers and Micro Integrator runtimes as long as network access is available.
Example
A single Monitoring Agent can monitor 8 Carbon servers running 40 total services and still use one license. The number of WSO2 resources does not change the licensing count.
High-Availability
For high-availability, deploy 2 Monitoring Agent instances that watch the same WSO2 landscape. That design uses 2 licenses because each agent instance counts separately.
